Accessibility Statement

Last updated: June 2026

Bloomi is built so that parents and caregivers of every ability can create stories for their children. This statement explains the accessibility standards we follow, the steps we have taken, the limitations that remain, and how to reach us if something does not work for you.

Our commitment

We believe a tool meant to support children and families should be usable by everyone. Bloomi is committed to making our website accessible to people with disabilities and to making the experience as clear, easy, and welcoming as possible for all visitors. We treat accessibility as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time project, and we review it as the product changes.

Conformance status

Bloomi aims to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at Level AA and with the Israeli Standard SI 5568, in line with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility), 2013. WCAG defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with a wide range of disabilities. We consider the site to be substantially conformant: most of it meets the standard, while some content may not yet fully conform. Those areas are listed under Known limitations below.

What we have done

Accessibility is built into the design and development of the site. Measures we have taken include:

  • Full keyboard operation - every interactive control can be reached and used with the keyboard alone, in a logical order, with clearly visible focus indicators.
  • A skip-to-content link so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass repeated navigation and jump straight to the main content of each page.
  • Semantic HTML structure with proper headings, landmarks, lists, and navigation regions so screen reader users can understand and move through each page.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images and icons, and clear, programmatically associated labels for every form field.
  • Form errors and status messages that are announced to assistive technology, so problems and confirmations are not conveyed by color or position alone.
  • Color combinations chosen to meet the WCAG AA contrast ratios for text and user-interface elements.
  • Support for browser zoom and text resizing - pinch-to-zoom and scaling are not blocked, so content can be enlarged without loss of function.
  • Respect for the operating system's reduced-motion preference, so animations are minimized for visitors who ask for it.
  • Full right-to-left support and the same accessibility features across all supported languages.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

The site is designed and tested to work with current versions of widely used browsers and assistive technologies, including:

  • Recent versions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari, on desktop and mobile.
  • Screen readers such as VoiceOver on Apple devices and NVDA on Windows.
  • Operating-system features such as browser zoom, text enlargement, increased contrast, and reduced-motion settings.

Accessibility may be reduced on older browsers or assistive technologies that do not support current web standards.

Adjusting the site to your needs

You can tailor the experience using tools built into your browser and device:

  • Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between controls, Enter or Space to activate them, and the arrow keys within menus and lists.
  • Zoom in or out with Ctrl and + or - (Cmd on a Mac), or by pinching on a touch screen, to enlarge text and images.
  • Turn on your operating system's accessibility settings - such as larger text, increased contrast, or reduced motion - and the site will respect them.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of the site may not be fully accessible. We are aware of the following limitations and are working to improve them:

  • Story illustrations and cover images are generated by artificial intelligence. We add descriptive text where we can, but automatically generated images may not always have a complete or accurate text description.
  • Some flows that depend on third-party services - such as the payment and checkout screens provided by our payment processor - are outside our direct control, and their accessibility may vary.
  • Printed and downloadable PDF versions of a book are visual artifacts and may not carry the same structure or text alternatives as the on-screen experience.

Feedback and how to report a problem

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Bloomi. If you encounter a barrier, need content in a different format, or have a suggestion, please contact us through our contact page.

To help us respond quickly, it helps to include:

  • The page or address where you ran into the problem.
  • A short description of the difficulty and what you were trying to do.
  • The browser, operating system, and any assistive technology you were using.

We aim to respond to accessibility requests within three business days.

Accessibility contact

Questions, requests, and accessibility issues can also be sent to our accessibility coordinator at alon@bloomi.chat.
